About

My name is Lisa. I am a creative from the deepest roots of my soul. I have been doing graphic design work since I was a teenager. I really started blooming when I discovered the computer. What a fantastic design tool! I have a BFA in Computer Art & Design, and I am working on a BA in Anthropology with a focus on Visual Anthropology.
I currently work at General Motors contracted to them through Hewlet Packard/EDS. I do very little actual design work there, I take snapshots of people receiving awards, and as much as I would like to dress that up, in actuality that is all it really is. I create training and safety videos and run the head end Broadcasting system in the plant. No one wants good looking they just want it fast and dirty. I am really wanting a design job that I can be creative and use all of this talent to think outside the box. I would really like to work in some sort of industry that is making a postive contribution to this world. In other words I want to make a difference!!! I would love to get paid the big bucks but really —- is money the only thing in this world? If I had to get paid less but was loving my job, I would sacrifice somewhat. I still have to pay the bills.

I have worked at the newspaper, in a church, a photo studio, wedding photographer, for radio stations, run my own freelance company doing web design, and now TV for my current position, I think I have all areas of media covered. I am good at what I do, and love to help people.

I am also working on developing my artistic personality by developing my “kscopes” into a market for buyers. These are created by photos I take being manipulated by hand - rotated, mirrored and layered to make kaleidoscopic designs. No automatic machine work here. I have been working on creating them into animated versions but don’t quite no where to go with those. Someone suggested screen savers, and I am looking into that, but do people really buy screen savers?  I would love to work with hospitals and hospice into developing these into a video that could be used to help aid people with pain. I have heard a little about this and would like to help with that field of study.

Art is what you make of it.
